Eighth District Electrical Pension Fund Description:

The following brief description of the Eighth District Electrical Pension Fund (Plan) is provided for general information purposes only. Participants should refer to the Plan agreement for more complete information.

The Plan is a defined benefit pension plan formed June 1, 1972 by agreement between the Southern Colorado Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union No. 68. Subsequently, various other locals have been admitted to the Plan.

The collective bargaining agreements provide for signatory employers to contribute from $.25 to $4.50 for each hour worked by employees within the jurisdiction of the participating IBEW locals. A third-party administrator, CompuSys of Colorado, Inc., is contracted by the Trustees to be responsible for the administration of the Plan. The Trustees are comprised of 20 individuals: ten representing employers and ten representing employees.

As of March 31,2017, the fair market value of the Plan’s assets was $837,447,000. The total number of participants in the Plan was 15,621.
